Greenglade Forest School & Nursery operates across two carefully chosen locations, each created to help children flourish through meaningful outdoor experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. These spaces encourage children to build independence, develop fine motor skills, form friendships, and grow in confidence through exploration and play. Our experienced teams are fully trained and equipped to support every child’s imagination, curiosity, and learning journey, while ensuring each environment remains secure, welcoming, and supportive.

Explore
Working in partnership with parents, using evidence-based practise, to nurture healthy, resilient and confident young people who are eager to learn and fulfil their potential.
By the end of their time at Greenglade Forest School, we would like our children to develop greater independence by making confident choices, taking responsibility for their belongings and actions, solving problems, and communicating effectively with others. Through exploration and hands-on learning, they will build physical, emotional, and social skills, develop creativity, and expand their understanding of the world around them.

Be surrounded by nature
Our Forest School approach encourages children to explore, learn, and have fun in natural outdoor environments. Research has shown that children who spend time in nature are often happier, healthier, and more confident, while also developing important social and problem-solving skills.
Enhance motor skills and problem-solving abilities
We encourage “risky play” to help children develop a better understanding of their physical boundaries, building confidence, resilience, and independence. With trained Forest School practitioners always nearby to safely assess and support activities, children learn how to recognise and manage risks for themselves while developing greater self-awareness and decision-making skills.
Encouraging independent learning and exploring
A core aspect of our Forest School is encouraging children to develop their independence. Within a safe and supportive environment, children are free to explore, discover, learn, and play at their own pace. This allows them to build confidence, find new ways to express themselves, and grow into their own unique individuals.
This Nursery combines the EYFS curriculum with a Scandinavian Forest School philosophy, creating bright, natural indoor spaces and rich outdoor environments that encourage child-led learning, exploration and independence. Children benefit from light-filled rooms with natural wooden resources, free-flow access to outdoor play areas, and daily opportunities to learn through play both inside and outside. From the age of two and a half, children take part in regular Forest School visits and community outings, helping them develop confidence, curiosity, respect for others and a strong connection to the natural world and local community.

Your child is supported and cared for by a consistent team of practitioners.
We know how important it is for parents to feel confident in who is caring for their child. That’s why we maintain a consistent team of practitioners within each age group, allowing children to build strong bonds, feel secure and develop trusting relationships with familiar faces throughout their nursery experience.
Designated sleeping spaces because fun and learning is tiring work!
We follow clear and safe sleep practices to ensure all babies and young children can rest comfortably and securely. Every child is settled to sleep in line with current safer sleep guidance, with our experienced practitioners providing a calm, safe and closely supervised sleeping environment at all times.
